Week beginning: 19th April, 2026.

‘Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread’ (Luke 24:35).

This weekend the Mother Church invites us to walk with the disciples on the road to Emmaus, where confusion turns slowly into recognition. They had hoped; but their hope seemed shattered. Yet, in their honest conversation and openness to the stranger beside them, Christ draws near. He listens before He reveals; He walks before He explains.

How often do we miss His presence in our own discouragement? We look for certainty; but He meets us in the journey, in Scripture, and in the breaking of bread. This Sunday reminds us that faith is not the absence of doubt, but the courage to keep walking.

Even when we feel lost, Christ is already beside us, turning our sorrow into growing hope.
