Week beginning: 19th July, 2026.

‘The Mother Church this weekend reminds us that God is both just and patient. In the Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds, the servants want to pull out the weeds immediately, but the master says, “Let both grow together until the harvest.”

God sees the whole picture, while we often judge too quickly. He gives every person time to repent, to grow, and to become the person He created them to be.

This Gospel also invites us to look within ourselves. Rather than focusing on the “weeds” in the lives of others, we are called to allow God’s grace to remove whatever prevents us from bearing good fruit. The Lord never gives up on us; His mercy is always greater than our failures.

As St. Francis de Sales reminds us: “Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself.” When we trust in God’s patient love, we become more patient, merciful, and hopeful with one another.
